Version 1.4 of opentaps ERP + CRM application released
The opentaps developers have announced the release of version 1.4 of opentaps, an open source ERP ( (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) suite. OpenTaps is intended as a complete open source platform covering the areas of ERP, CRM and business intelligence. The software package is based on Apache OFBiz, BI tools Pentaho and JasperReports and Funambol Data Synchronisation Server. Funambol is used to provide data synchronisation between mobile devices and, for example, the Outlook email client.
The latest release features updated components, a number of new reports in CRM, Financials, manufacturing and purchasing, and new human resources (HR) and project management applications. Other changes include integrated LDAP and support for GlassFish, JBoss and the IBM Websphere Community Edition, as well as the Apache Geronimo and Tomcat standard application servers.
The company behind opentaps is Open Source Strategies, which has several developers on its payroll. Opentaps was originally released as Sequoia ERP in 2005.
More details about the release can be found on the opentaps 1.4 product page. Opentaps 1.4 is available to download from SourceForge. Opentaps is released under version 3 of the GNU Affero Public License (AGPLv3).
