Version 1.0 of the Yaffas framework is released
The developers of Yaffas ("yet another framework for administrating servers") have released version 1.0
of the administration framework for Linux servers. In version 1.0, it is possible to manage system services, users and groups, and configure the network. Users have the ability to then set up, via the Yaffas web interface, the included Postfix email server and ClamAV anti-virus software.
The sister project Zarafa Z-Admin, which is based on Yaffas has also just released its first version. With Z-Admin, the Zarafa Collaboration Platform is now managed through a streamlined intuitive web interface.
Yaffas was originally a project of bitbone AG, and, in March of this year, became an open source project hosted on SourceForge. Currently the installation packages are available for Ubuntu and Red Hat, with Debian to be made available in the future; instructions for installing Yaffas are available in the documention. The AGPL3 licensed source code is available from a git repository.
