Version 0.9 of Mozilla's calendar applications released

Sunbird and Lightning, Mozilla's calendar application and extension to Thunderbird mail client, have been updated to version 0.9. The developers announced the update, five and a half months after releasing 0.8 saying they were one step closer to a 1.0 release in early 2009.

Among the improvements in the 0.9 release, a better indication of events that span days, an overhaul of the calendar views and more progress indicators are the most visible. Less visible, improved CalDav support, email invitation support and fixes for stability make up the rest of the 397 changes from version 0.8.

The 0.9 release of Lightning is to be the last release that supports the Thunderbird 2 email client; the aim it to have Lightning fully integrated into Thunderbird 3 in the future.
