Zimbra Logo VMware has released the Zimbra Collaboration Server 7.0, the email and groupware solution spun out of the Zimbra Collaboration Suite after VMware took over Zimbra from Yahoo a year ago. This is the first product in the Zimbra 7 family; customers can now also download beta versions of Zimbra Desktop 7 and Zimbra Appliance 7.

Zimbra 7 productivity changes include the Calendar Scheduling Wizard; this facilitates the creation of calendar entries by automatically proposing the next date when all participants have time. The Briefcase now makes it easy to share data and collaborate on files; it also stores older versions of files and now offers check-in and check-out procedures.

A number of management changes were made to facilitate the administration of Zimbra. In the category of "Openness", Zimbra mentions such improvements as support for oAuth, VMware MyOneLogin SAML Single Sign On (SSO) and Kerberos Single Sign On (SSO).
