VLC Media Player for Android enters private beta

VLC Cone Following a number of delays, an Android version of the popular open source VLC Media Player has entered private beta testing. The VideoLAN project developers say that they "will select a few people to test some debug builds, in order to see on how many devices it actually works, depending on the chip and the Android version".

They also note that devices which haven't been tested may be restricted from running VLC Media Player for Android in future. Those interested in signing up for the private VLC for Android Beta program can apply using the online registration form. VLC is licensed under GPLv2.
