Users may have found the flow of information about the next version of Ubuntu Linux, Ubuntu 8.10 codenamed "Intrepid Ibex", somewhat scattered around various locations. In true open source style, one user of the Ubuntu Forums "Exsecrabilus", has set out to remedy this with a regularly updated posting tracking the features coming in the new release.

From the posting, it's easy and quick to see what is planned; from the low level, such as the progress of incorporating Linux kernel 2.6.27, to the more obvious user experience, like the addition of OpenOffice 3.x, the new network manager, a theme revamp and updating of applications like Pidgin 2.5 and Transmission 1.33.
