Zoom Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.0 features an updated user interface.
The Ubuntu Tweak developers have announced the availability of version 0.5.0 of their software for easily configuring Ubuntu, adding several new features and dropping support for Ubuntu 9.04 and before. Ubuntu Tweak is an application designed to allow users to configure their installations by changing various desktop and system options which the default environment doesn't provide. Currently, only Ubuntu systems running the GNOME desktop are supported.

The latest release of Ubuntu Tweak features a new user interface, including changes to the sidebar and titlebar, and the ability to sync data over the internet. The Application Center has been improved from the previous Add/Remove options and the application data will now automatically keep itself up-to-date. Other notable changes include updates to the Update Manager and the Source Center, which has the ability to sync data and contains a number of additional third-party sources. The developers note that they have already started working on Ubuntu Tweak 0.6. Version 0.6 will be based on the 0.5 source code and support Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx".

More details about the release can be found in the release announcement and release notes. A video walkthrough is also available on YouTube. Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.0 is available to download (direct download) as a .deb file for Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala". Distributions that are based on Karmic, such as Linux Mint 8, are also supported. Ubuntu Tweak is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
