Ubuntu Core gains two new partners
Canonical's recent announcements around Ubuntu Core have seen companies sign up for the non-desktop technology. The Ubuntu sponsor has now announced two new partners, Mobica and Pelagicore.
Based in the UK and Poland, Mobica offers high-end software development and integration services for consumer electronics manufacturers. According to Canonical, Mobica were attracted to the processor neutrality of Ubuntu Core, which supports both Intel and ARM.
Sweden-based Pelagicore specialises in using open source software in the IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) industry and, like Canonical, is a member of GENIVI, the non-profit industry organisation for open source IVI development. Again, it was attracted by the processor neutrality of Ubuntu Core, and the company's CTO, Mikael Söderberg, noted out that "Pelagicore's customers and industry OEMs have immediate requirements for Ubuntu Core".
