The Typo3 Association has released Typo3 4.3. The new version of the content management system includes the Extbase development framework, which uses a model view controller approach and allows developers to produce projects compatible with the forthcoming version 5. The new Fluid templating engine represents an alternative to marker based templates.

With regard to security, Typo3 4.3 adds support for RSA authentication, so that non-HTTPS websites can also use encrypted data transfer. OpenID authentication has also now been integrated into the front and back ends.

To improve usability, the development team has added a mass uploader. This carries out uploads in the background, allowing users to continue working while data is being uploaded. There is a new automatic code completion function in the TypoScript Editor.

Users can also download an optional Front End Editing module. The Ajax extension allows users to edit, delete and drag & drop website elements using the mouse.

Typo3 4.3 can be downloaded from the project website, where users will also find detailed release notes listing all the changes.
