Tine 2.0 Lara (2009/02) has been released and now includes support for ActiveSync. The free collaboration software release comes one year after the eGroupware fork was created. Tine 2.0 is an open source project built on PHP and JavaScript that combines groupware, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning, into a single system. The client is a Rich Internet Application (RIA) that runs in any modern web browser.

The addition of ActiveSync support means that contacts and tasks on mobile devices can be modified when synced. PUSH capabilities are now supported so that contact and task changes can be pushed immediately to all mobile devices in an organisation. A new time tracking module has been added to provide time sheet acquisition and analysis. The tool allows for easy creation of time sheets, while providing extensive accounting features.

Tine 2.0 is released under the AGPL V3 and sponsored by the German IT-company Metaways Infosystems. The Tine 2.0 project developers have already started working on the next major version, Leonie (2009/06). Tine 2.0 Lara (2009/02) is available to download now and an online demo is available on the Tine 2.0 web site.
