Thunderbird Logo

Mozilla has released the first beta of version 7.0 of its open source Thunderbird news and email client. The Beta channel release adds the ability to print a summary of selected messages and brings several improvements to the user interface. Other changes include updates to attachment handling and various Gecko platform fixes.

Further information about the Beta Channel version of Thunderbird can be found in the release notes. Thunderbird 7 Beta 1 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the project's web site. Users testing the release are encouraged to provide feedback and report any bugs that they find. The final version of Thunderbird 7 is scheduled to arrive on 27 September alongside Firefox 7.

Thunderbird binaries are released under the Mozilla Thunderbird End-User Software License Agreement and the source code is released under disjunctive tri-licensing that includes the Mozilla Public Licence, GPLv2 and LGPLv2.1. The latest stable release is Thunderbird 6.0 from 16 August.
