Zoom Blender film Sintel is available to download or to stream on YouTube
Following the release of the first alpha of version 2.5 of open source 3D package Blender around one year ago, work started on the third Blender film project, following on from Elephant's Dream and Big Buck Bunny. The project, originally going by the codename Durian, has now been released with the official title Sintel.

In just under 15 minutes, the film narrates a traditional fantasy story with all the pathos expected from the genre – a young female warrior called Sintel finds an injured baby dragon and nurses it back to health. When the baby dragon, barely able to fly, is kidnapped by a powerful older dragon, Sintel takes up the pursuit.

The film is available to download in a range of formats and resolutions online and can also be viewed with multilingual subtitles on YouTube. The film's official première was at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht on 27th September.
