The KDE Akademy honours... Amarock, Oxygen and Plasma developers
On the second day of KDE Akademy 2008, being held in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium, a selected jury picked three winners for the Akademy Awards. The awards came at the end of the KDE Contributors Conference at the weekend, part of the week long event.
The Application Award went to Mark Kretschmann and the Amarock team for their work on the Amarock multimedia player. The Non-Application Award went to Nuno Pinheiro and the Oxygen team, responsible for the Oxygen design in KDE4, and their work bringing together developers and artists. The Jury Award went to Aaron Seigo for his work on Plasma, the KDE desktop shell, and "leading a full-refresh of a fundamental piece of our Environment".
The KDE Akademy runs until Friday with a coding marathon running alongside a mobile and embedded day and BoF sessions.
