In the process of fixing a security hole in MySQL, Oracle accidentally released a proof of concept for the denial-of service vulnerability, the GIMP development team confirmed that version 2.10 of the open source image editor will use GEGL (the Generic Graphics Library) for all of its calculations, and Spanish firm TheCorpora announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for its Q.bo open source and open hardware robot. Google sent out email messages to the webmasters of more than 20,000 sites to let them know that their sites may have been hacked, and Canonical unveiled a beta version of its "AWSOME" open source proxy server for migrating from Amazon Web Services to the OpenStack cloud computing platform.
