Talend release Open Studio 3.1
Talend has announced version 3.1 of Open Studio, its data integration application. The new release adds support for JBossESB (Enterprise Service Bus) from Red Hat and support for Alfresco's content management system. Open Studio acts as a graphical IDE driven code generator to create data integration and transformation scripts and programs in Perl or Java. Over two hundred metadata elements provided with the graphical user interface make it simple to drag, drop and connect elements into graphical representations of scripts. These can either be executed from inside Open Studio or exported as standalone scripts.
Other additions in the new release include the ability to bulk insert into Sybase IQ databases, an IMAP connector and a new tool for searching job designs. Another change allows two jobs to share one database connection. Windows users will find Talend have embedded a Perl distribution with Open Studio for easier deployment. The GUI front end has been enhanced with customisable palettes of components and translations for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Korean, contributed by the Open Studio community.
Talend Open Studio is available for Windows, Unix and Linux. It is available to download as pre-compiled binaries or as source from the company's Subversion repository, and is licensed under the GPL2.
