Talend Cloud

Talend, a provider of open source middleware for data and application integration, has added cloud support to its integration platform. Talend Cloud uses a shared metadata repository complete with administration and development tools to solve the problems resulting from the distribution of data across local systems, SaaS providers, and the virtual machines of cloud providers. “Although cloud has become ubiquitous in today’s IT deployments, many organisations are still trying to determine how to function in hybrid environments" said Talend CEO Bertrand Diard.

The components in Talend Cloud, including the recently released Enterprise Service Bus, can be transparently installed in an in-house data centre, on platforms such as Amazon EC2, and Eucalyptus, or across distributed systems. The system should, says Talend, be able to expand and contract as needed, while using a common set of protocols in an extensible framework. The software contains connectors for a number of SaaS and other applications, including, SugarCRM, BIRT onDemand, Amazon S3, Apache Hadoop, Google Applications and Google Analytics. Further connectors will be added.
