Talend Logo Talend hsd announced that Talend Integration Suite will now support Apache Hadoop to help enterprises take on "big data". The integration includes native support for HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) for data access and Hive, the database infrastructure, for complex data processing. Talend make use of Hadoop's MapReduce architecture and can generate native Hadoop code which allows data transformations to be executed within the Hive database.

The company believes that the support will simplify data integration for their customers by allowing them to use both traditional databases and big data from one tool. The Hadoop features will only be in Talend's Integration Suite and will not, according to a company spokesperson, be available in Talend's open source core product, Open Studio.
