Canonical, the main sponsor of the Ubuntu Linux distribution, has completed its Landscape system management software that was announced in summer 2007. Landscape is intended to make the central management of Ubuntu systems easier in the corporate environment.

Landscape enables software updates and bugfixes to be distributed centrally – including those from a company's own repositories and to computers that are only occasionally connected to the network. Other features include the management of users and computers, monitoring functions, a support portal and a direct link to the Ubuntu support team. The cost is around $150 per machine.
