Support ends for Fedora 8
The Fedora developers have postponed the end of support for version 8 of its Linux distribution by two weeks. Normally, support would end one month after the second subsequent version is released; for Fedora 8, that would be one month after publication of Fedora 10. Following that rule would mean that the end of support would then have come around Christmas, so the Fedora team has decided to continue providing updates until January 07, 2009 so that no one will have to switch to the new version during Christmas break.
