Sun Microsystems has released a new version of its OpenSSO Express identity management solution with support for Google Apps Premier. OpenSSO Express is targeted at companies and organisations that rely on Google's software-as-a-service solution (SaaS) as their central communications platform. With it individuals can use a cross-company single sign-on (SSO) to access the web, mail and other applications.

For help getting started with the system, Sun has created Identity Management Starter Kits, which include guides and video demos of the identity management solution. The latest build of OpenSSO Express, however, is not included in the kits and must be downloaded (Direct Download) separately.

More details about build 7 of OpenSSO Express can be found in the release notes and the provided documentation. The majority of the OpenSSO code is available under Sun's Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) v1.0.
