Stefano Zacchiroli leads Debian Project for a third year
Stefano Zacchiroli has prevailed against two other candidates in the Debian GNU/Linux distribution's annual Project Leader election. This means that Zacchiroli will hold the position for a third year, as this is the second time that he has been re-elected. However, there were no competing candidates in last year's elections, which were largely a formality.
Every spring, the Debian Project elects a project leader who represents the project to the outside world and, in conjunction with the technical committee, determines its development direction. The winner is chosen using the Condorcet method. Details of the vote can be found in a mailing list post by Debian Project Secretary Kurt Roeckx and on the 2012 election web page.
