SpringSource buys Apache specialist Covalent

SpringSource, creator of the Spring UI framework for Java, has purchased Covalent Technologies, based in California. Covalent offers services and support for Apache products and, according to its own information, currently has some 400 clients, many of them large companies. The purchase price was not announced. With the takeover, SpringSource intends to position itself as a supplier of products and services for the development and operation of Spring and Tomcat-based corporate applications.
