SpringSource acquires Hyperic

SpringSource, the company behind the Spring framework for Java applications, has announced it has acquired Hyperic, developers of open source monitoring and management software. SpringSource's CEO Rod Johnson explained that the acquisition would allow the company to offer a complete solution to the entire life cycle of an application, from development to deployment in the data centre or cloud.

Hyperic's flagship product, Hyperic HQ manages both physical and virtual servers and supports cloud deployment. Javier Soltero, Hyperic's CEO will become the CTO of Management Products at SpringSource. In his blog, Soltaro says "Today’s announcement is a testament to the top-notch product, services and sales support that we have built in our organization", SpringSource's product range includes the Spring framework, Groovy the language, Grails the Groovy based framework, tc Server, an enterprise version of Tomcat and dm Server, an OSGi based modular server for applications.
