SpringSource, the driving force behind the Spring Java applications framework, has released version 2.0 of it's SpringSource Tool Suite (STS). The SpringSource Tool Suite is an Eclipse-based Interactive Development Environment for building Spring-powered Java applications that run on the major application server platforms such as Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, and Jboss. The updated version includes several new features and enhancements.

Updates to the tool suite include Project Creation Wizards, Spring Configuration Auto-Discovery, a forms-based Spring Configuration Editor, Quick Fixes and Quick Assist, Bean Creation Wizards and a Namespace Configuration Dialog. STS also incorporates new visual development tools to accelerate Spring and OSGi development. Version 2.0 now provides an OSGi console, a graphical bundle overview page, a visual dependency graph and the ability to test dependencies and specify bundle deployment order.

The SpringSource Tool Suite is available to download as a free 90-day evaluation. More details about the release can be found in the SpringSource blog posts.
