Stefan Lippers-Hollmann has announced the release of Sidux 2009-03, code named "Μώμος" (Momos). Sidux is a slim Linux desktop distribution and LiveCD release based on Debian's unstable branch. Sidux 2009-03 includes a number of updates to the included components and is the first Sidux release to ship without KDE 3 or QT 3 packages.

The latest release features version 2.6.31 of the Linux kernel and KDE 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.3 was released earlier this month) as the distributions default desktop environment. As with previous releases, a version with the lightweight Xfce desktop is also available. Other notable changes include X.org 7.4 with xserver-xorg-core 1.6.5, USB 3.0 support and version 3.5.4 of the Iceweasel browser.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes. A manual is also provided. Sidux 2009-03 is available to download for 32 and 64-bit systems.
