The SharpDevelop open source IDE for C#, VB.NET, Voo, F#, IronPython and IronRuby has been updated to version 3.2 and now supports IronRuby 1.0, IronPython 2.6.1 and the April 2010 CTP release of F#. The update also integrates the previously standalone SDR (SharpDevelopReports), a open source .NET reporting package which allows developers to create reports from SQL databases, XSD files or object collections and output them via printer, Windows Forms or PDF export.

The support for IronRuby 1.0 is completely new to version 3.2, whereas the IronPython support just brings the IDE up to date with the latest version. SharpDevelop is licensed under the GNU LGPL 2.1 and requires the .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed. The developers say that .NET 4 support will appear with SharpDevelop 4.0, a beta of which is due in the coming weeks. The developers recommend using a number of other tools to complement the SharpDevelop IDE: Microsoft's FxCop for code analysis, StyleCop for C# style enforcement and TortoiseSVN for Subversion access.
