Second update for Debian 5.0 "Lenny" released
The Debian project developers have announced the release of the second update to Debian 5.0 (code named Lenny). The update includes a new version of the debian-installer and addresses several bugs and security issues in the previous release. The debian-installer now allows the option to install Debian 4.0 and addresses several issues with installation menu rendering when using the newt front end. Other installer issues that caused installation problems on s390 G5 systems and IBM summit-based i386 systems have also been fixed. The developers note that the update does not constitute a new version of Debian and advise that users currently running Debian 5.0 should use the built-in update function.
More details about the release can be found in the change log. Debian 5.0.2 is available to download and an installation guide is provided.
