Second service release of Eclipse Helios issued
The Eclipse developers have released version 3.6.2 of their development environment. This is the second "service release" (SR2) of the IDE that became available to download last summer within the Helios coordinated release train of around 40 projects. There are usualy no further service releases after the second one.
The next version 3.7 of the IDE, code-named Eclipse Indigo, has reached its fifth milestone. In parallel with the development of Indigo, the developers are also working on Eclipse 4.1.
Eclipse 4.x is the "next generation" of the Java IDE. While version 4.0, which was released in summer 2010, was still classified as an "early adopter" release, version 4.1 is intended for a wider audience.
