This week, Oracle has released a second update for Java 7, which became available in summer 2011, as well as Update 30 for the previous version, Java 6. The update for Java 7, version number 1.7.0_02-b13, includes a new version of the Java HotSpot virtual machine, which has been updated to improve reliability and performance. Java 7 now supports Solaris 11 and version 5 and later of the Firefox browser.

The Java Development Kit (JDK) now includes the SDK for developing JavaFX applications. Use of this SDK requires the installation of version 2.0.2 of Oracle's framework for platform-independent Rich Internet Applications (RIA). Further information on bug fixes and other aspects of Java SE 7 Update 2 can be found in the release notes.

Java SE 6 Update 30 has been updated in order to improve the performance and stability of Java applications and is now certified for Red Hat Enterprise 6. Further information can be found in the associated release notes. Both updates are available to download from Oracle's Java SE Downloads page which includes the runtime and JDK releases of each version.
