The Novell community has responded to the demand of its users for a personalised SUSE mascot builder by publishing GeekoBuilder.com. Geeko Builder is a flash site that lets users create their own custom Geeko. The site provides several backgrounds and a range of accessories, including flags, guitars and baseball bats. Users can customise their Geeko's clothes, glasses, hats, shoes and hair to create a unique mascot. Once finished, the final result can be used as a wallpaper, an avatar or downloaded and emailed to friends and family.

The site is also sponsoring a Build a Geeko contestPDF where users can submit their own unique Geeko for a chance to win a customised Flip HD video camera. Each contestant is only allowed to enter one avatar and submissions must be in by the 31st of July. The finalists will be judged by their peers and, from the 3rd of August, over a period of five weeks, one winner will be selected each week.
