SOGo 2.0 has Outlook compatibility layer

Almost a year after the first beta, the Inverse development team has released version 2.0 of the SOGo open source groupware suite. Aside from adding a compatibility layer for Microsoft Outlook, the developers have also worked on the web interface and fixed several bugs in the code base.

SOGo 2.0 offers native support for Microsoft Outlook by using the OpenChange libraries which provide an open source MAPI implementation. This enables Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 clients to interact with a SOGo 2.0 server without the use of additional plugins. Additionally, SOGo supports CalDAV and CardDAV to provide access to calendar and contact data.

The new release brings several enhancements to the server web interface, including updated translations, better support for Internet Explorer 8 and 9, and look-and-feel changes to the user interface. Several bugs have also been fixed in the new version; a comprehensive list of these is available on the project's bug tracking system.
