SCO vs Linux The SCO Group Inc has filed to change its name to TSG Group Inc. The papers, published by GroklawPDF detail the change of name filed with the Secretary of State for Delaware along with filings informing the bankruptcy court that the company has renamed itself. A second filing changes the name of SCO Operations Inc to TSG Operations Inc. Although the new name is not officially explained, it appears to be an abbreviation of The SCO Group.

The name SCO stood for Santa Cruz Operation and the original SCO traded under that name in the 80s and 90s. The assets of that company were acquired by Caldera Systems in 2001 which then changed its name, first to SCO, and then to The SCO Group before embarking on its ill-fated legal battle against Linux. With the company now under the control of the bankruptcy trustee, it has decided to change its name yet again. The change does not appear to have affected the company's web site yet.
