It appears that the Ruby On Rails web site has jumped the tracks. A Twitter status update from Ruby on Rails creator David Heinemeier Hansson, says that the domain registration service he uses has failed to renew, so the domain has been parked with a generic "parked domain" page.

The incident, originally reported by TechCrunch as the work of a hacker, appears to in fact be a simple registration problem; The domain's registration was due to expire on the 19th of April.

Update: The rubyonrails.org domain was restored in the evening. David Heinemeier Hansson commented on the hacker story pointing out the domain had been on autorenew since it was purchased, and three hours later announced the restoration of the site.
