Samsung has denied the reports that it is abandoning the Symbian operating system for its mobile phones. According to a report in MobileBurn, the company said that the content of the Digitimes article, which quoted a senior vice president of the company, "is not it line with Samsung's smartphone strategy".

It went on to restate that it was an initial member of the Symbian Foundation and that it will support various open operating systems, including Symbian, Linux, Android and Windows Mobile, in order to suit "consumers' many different tastes and preferences". The statement made no reference to Samsung's recently announced bada mobile phone OS.
