A report on French website LeMagIT says that Mandriva has been saved by as yet undisclosed new investors. In May, Mandriva was believed to be up for sale and looking for either buyers or investors. UK based lightapp and French open source service provider LINAGORA were both mentioned as possible suitors at that time.

According the LeMagIT, Arnaud Laprévote, CEO of Mandriva said "Today, the company has found investors who decided to invest in the company to return the group to balance and find a good business model" and added that "the community and users no longer need have concerns". These concerns had recently been voiced by Frederick Cuif, founder of a French speaking Mandriva Linux users group, who discussed the issues surrounding Mandriva, including the ability to create income from the company's PowerPack, Enterprise Server and administration tools.

Laprévote says that confidentiality rules mean he cannot name the investors; those in the Mandriva community who have asked for clarification on what Mandriva is actually doing and assurances over the community support for the Linux distribution will most likely be disappointed.
