The 2012 open source event, which is aimed at business decision makers, developers and community enthusiasts, will take place from 26 to 29 June 2012 in Boston at the Hynes Convention Center; the event is traditionally used by Red Hat to introduce new products and updates to its portfolio.

Summit JBoss World logo The company is seeking speaker submissions in seven categories: "Current" for the latest innovations in virtualisation, infrastructure and more; "In-Depth" for highly technical talks; "Emerging" on future open source innovation; "Integrate"; "Optimize"; "Strategy" and "Taste of Training". Interested parties can submit their proposals online – the deadline for submissions is 16 December. Notifications of whether a proposal has been accepted will be sent in March 2012.

The upcoming event will mark the fourth time that the Red Hat Summit and JBoss World have been held in Boston. Although Red Hat acquired JBoss in April of 2006, the two events have only been co-located since 2009. Registration is expected to open in early 2012. Photos and videos from the keynote and various sessions from this year's Red Hat Summit and JBoss World, which took place from 3 to 6 May, are available on the 2011 Event Highlights web page.
