Red Hat Logo Red Hat has announced that registration is now open for this year's Red Hat Summit. The 2011 Red Hat Summit will take place in conjunction with JBoss World in Boston, Massachusetts at the Seaport World Trade Center from the 3rd to the 6th of May, 2011.

The US open source events, aimed at business decision makers, developers and community enthusiasts, will look at the latest open source advances, including virtualisation, middleware and management technologies.

Summit JBoss World Keynote addresses for the 2011 event will include talks from Red Hat President and CEO Jim Whitehurst, Products and Technologies Executive VP and President Paul Cormier and Worldwide Engineering CTO and VP Brian Stevens, as well as Jeremy Gutsche, author of "Exploiting Chaos: 150 Ways to Spark Innovation During Times of Change" and founder of TrendHunter.com. Sessions include an overview of Red Hat reference architectures, JBoss Enterprise, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and cloud computing, including trends, foundations and deploying in the cloud. A detailed agenda is provided on the Red Hat Summit web site. Traditionally, Red Hat also uses the event to introduce new products and updates to its portfolio.

While Red Hat acquired JBoss in April of 2006, the two events have only been linked since 2009. At the time of this posting, the JBoss World site still forwards to last year's 2010 event page.

Further information about the upcoming event can be found on the Red Hat Summit site. Advance registration costs $1,445 (approx. £911), however, early bird registration discounts are available until the 30th of March. An additional discount is available for government employees, academic attendees and alumni that have previously attended the Red Hat Summit or JBoss World. Those wanting to keep up with Red Hat Summit developments can follow the latest news on Twitter.
