NetBeans 6.5: The NetBeans developers have released a set of patches for NetBeans 6.5 which includes bug fixes in the modules for C/C++, Database, Editing, GlassFish v3 Prelude, Groovy and Grails and many others. Details of the bug fixes are available on the NetBeans Patches page. All the updates should be automatically offered for installation by the IDE, but can also be installed using the Tools->Plug-ins menu option.

MySQL 5.1.7 alpha: The developers of the visual database design tool MySQL Workbench have released alpha versions of the project for both Linux and OSX in what they call their "first dual platform release". These versions are in-development projects intended to bring the functionality of MySQL Workbench 5.0, which is currently only available for Windows, to Linux and OSX. The developers note that the user interfaces of these versions are at different levels of completeness, but that all versions are now building from the same codebase. The community version of MySQL Workbench is licensed under the GPL.
