JRuby - JRuby 1.1.5 has been released as part of an accelerated schedule of JRuby releases over the next seven or eight months. The new release has improved caching on per-class methods, a constant cache for faster constant lookup, reduced memory usage and more Ruby 1.9 support. The new release also sees 113 bugs fixed since the previous version. JRuby 1.1.5 is available to download now and available under a tri-licence (CPL/GPL/LGPL).

Click - The Click project has released version 1.5 of its web application framework. The Click framework is designed to be an easy to learn and use framework, using a component and page oriented design that eschews JSP and MVC. In September, Click was accepted to be the Apache Incubator as a step towards becoming a top level Apache project. In the 1.5 announcement, the developers pointed to new enhancements such as mock test support, better complex component management, Freemarker support as an alternative to Velocity and pluggable services for the Click core. Click is available under the Apache Licence 2.0.
