Trolltech, developer of the Qt GUI framework, has decided to change its name to Qt Software. The company, which was acquired by Nokia earlier this year, has decided that the Trolltech and Qtopia names were no longer appropriate. It has also renamed the Qtopia mobile/embedded framework to Qt Extended.

Qt Software also released Qt Extended 4.4 and announced the GPL licensing of the Linux version of Qt Eclipse Integration. Rather confusingly and despite the company name change, the company's web site is still, currently at trolltech.com, though the rebranding was accompanied with a refresh of the web site.
