Qt logo The Qt developers have released Qt SDK 1.2 as a "new baseline" for users of the cross platform UI toolkit. The new release includes December 2011's release of Qt 4.8.0 which brought a restructured GUI stack, threaded OpenGL support, multi-threaded HTTP, an updated WebKit and a reworked and optimised filesystem stack. The SDK actually contains Qt 4.8.0 for desktops only and Qt 4.7.4 for mobile devices as 4.8.0 is not on mobile devices.

Fixes for Qt Creator 2.4 are included as a patch update to version 2.4.1 and improve the C++ and QML editors and code refactoring tools. Other changes include the inclusion of more Qt Mobility examples for the Nokia N9 and Symbian devices and an update to the Notifications API which fixes issues with the Nokia N9 implementation. An In-App Purchasing API for Qt Mobile apps is also included in the SDK.

The new SDK release is available to download for 32- or 64-bit Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, 32- or 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 or later, and 64-bit Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
