Python logo The Python developers have released the production version of Python 3.1. Python 3.1, available in beta since May, continues the renewal of the Python language which has been the focus of the Python 3 development. The release has a number of new features including an ordered dictionary type, support for skipping unit tests, new assert methods, a much faster I/O module and a new syntax for nested "with" statements.

Full details of the changes are available in "Whats New In Python 3.1" and the Python 3.1 change log. Python 3.1 is licensed under the Python Software Foundation Licence and is available to download as source or as Windows and Mac OS X binaries.
