PyCon UK logo Two weeks ahead of this year's official UK Python conference, the event's organisers have now published a draft schedule. The PyCon UK 2012 conference is open to everyone from complete beginners to experienced experts, and will include various talks, tutorials and hands-on development sprints. The organisers have also added "unconference"-style spontaneous sessions such as Lightning Talks.

Among the talks will be a keynote by Alex Bradbury on the Raspberry Pi mini-computer, and a presentation on the PyPy JIT-boosted Python interpreter. Planned tutorials include introductory sessions to Python and the Turtle module, and Intermediate Python tutorials by developer John Pinner. Complementing the actual conference are several social events, including a gathering at a local pub and the annual Python dinner.

The conference will take place from 28 September to 1 October at the TechnoCentre of Coventry University Technology Park; this offers on-site hotel accommodation. Standard registration for PyCon UK costs £165 and ends on 21 September; last minute bookings will cost £190. A discounted concession rate of £65 is available for students and other groups.
