Public preview version of IntelliJ IDEA 10
To get the forthcoming version of Java development environment IntelliJ IDEA to be tested by a larger circle of users, vendor JetBrains has released a public preview version. It does not require a license key, as the license expires automatically after 30 days. The company has set up a web site for the preview of version 10, where interested users can find an overview of new features. These include automatic code completion, simplified project set up properties, support for distributed version control systems Mercurial and Git and better editing of code made up of a mixture of languages.
JetBrains say that the free community edition of IntelliJ IDEA 10 can now be used to write tests for Android applications. The company has also announced that customers who have purchased an IntelliJ IDEA 9.x license after the 1st of November will be eligible for a free upgrade to version 10 when it's released.
