Programming competition for Cisco routers
Developers still have until 14th January to qualify for the first phase of the programming competition for Cisco's Application Extension Platform (AXP). The networking supplier has offered a total of $100,000 in prize money.
The competition's target is to develop new, Linux-based applications for Cisco's Integrated Services Routers (ISR). Competitors need to submit their program concepts by the end of the first phase in mid January. A jury will select ten of them, and the developers then have until the end of the second phase in May 2009 to implement their ideas. The jury will re-evaluate the developed concepts and award a first, second and third place. The winner will receive $50,000, the first runner-up $30,000 and the second runner-up $20,000.
