Colosa have released version 2.5 of ProcessMaker, their open source business process management (BPM) software. With ProcessMaker, users and administrators can model business workflows, generate reports and get notifications with a variety of event triggers. ProcessMaker 2.5 replaces the package's HTML editor with the TinyMCE editor – one of the most popular open source web-based editors for content management systems – giving its users WYSIWYG editing capabilities when working with forms and documents.

An improved PDF generation engine called TCPDF has also been included in the release, but users can still choose to use the older PDF generator for backwards compatibility reasons. New import triggers functionality makes the system more reliable with users no longer having to manually copy and paste PHP snippets. The developers also say that a problem with premature session timeouts has been fixed, which should prevent users being logged off before they have the chance to save their work on complex form designs.

ProcessMaker 2.5 is available for download from the project's web site after filling out a registration form. The source code for the software is available on Google Code. It is licensed under the AGPLv3 and Colosa also makes it available it under a commercial licence. The company also provides commercial support services for ProcessMaker.
