Plans logo Version 8.0 of the Plans Web calendar has been released, after over a year since the last 7.10 release. The Perl based web calendar has received a overhaul of it's user interface aimed at improving responsiveness. The server side interface code had 2,500 lines removed from it to simplify things and the home brew JavaScript used in the front end has been converted to jQuery.

Plans offers multiple independent calendars with a flat file or SQL database to hold its data. It supports themes and has a number of add-ons available to extend its functionality. Plans requires perl 5.6 or later and requires a web server that supports execution of Perl CGI scripts. It is licensed under the GPLv2.
