Packt Publishing's open source donations top $300,000
Publishers of paper and electronic books, mainly on open source and web-related subjects, Packt Publishing, has announced that it has made donations now totalling over $300,000 to open source projects. Since starting to make such donations in 2004, the company has helped support over 70 different open source projects.
Projects that have been supported include Blender, Drupal, Joomla!, Netbeans, OpenOffice.org, Tomcat and WordPress. A full list is available here. Packt also sponsors the annual Open Source Awards, now in its fifth year.
