The PC-BSD team have released a first beta of PC-BSD 7. The new release is based on FreeBSD 7-STABLE and incorporates the KDE 4.1 desktop. The beta release has also added extra installation options, including from USB memory stick and "boot-only" CD and USB images for network installations.

PC-BSD 7 will be the release that follows PC-BSD 1.5.1; the leap in numbering reflecting the PC-BSD team's decision to synchronise with FreeBSD version numbers. The 1.94GB DVD image, along with smaller CD and USB images is available on the PC-BSD site.
