Oracle has announced the release of version 3.2.12 of the open source VM VirtualBox desktop virtualisation application for x86 hardware. According to the developers, the latest maintenance release includes more than 20 bugs fixes and several changes over the previous version.

VM VirtualBox 3.2.12 improves the application's overall stability and addresses a bug that caused some 64-bit guests to crash on 32-bit hosts, as well as a problem that lead to out of memory issues. Host and guest fixes for systems running the upcoming 2.6.37 Linux kernel are also included. Other changes include GUI updates, fixes for USB keyboard emulation, and 3D and 2D support changes. Additionally, another BSOD issue has been corrected on Windows hosts.

Details about the update, including a full list of changes, can be found in the release announcement and in the change log. VM VirtualBox 3.2.12 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris from the project's site. VirtualBox source code is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2) while VirtualBox binaries are released under the VirtualBox Personal Use and Evaluation Licence (PUEL).
